It’s such a beautiful night right now, and my sister accurately described it as a “Montreal summer” – cool, yet warm, quiet, yet stimulating. She’s very deep.
Kayla’s screaming her head off (with pleasure) so she’s kinda ruining the moment for me!

You all didn’t have to make fun of me for my last blog :) I don’t know why I thought the note was so sweet that I had to run and blog it. but okay, here’s a better update!

May – Completed my last year of going to classes, writing papers, meeting homework deadlines, taking comps *thank the lord*
Had a week-long vacation in Miami with Amie – so much fun waking up and making plans for the day with her every morning! Not relaxing on South Beach, Coconut Grove, Stone Cold Creamery with Lissette, Monkey Jungle, running in the blazing hot sun, Dim Sum and Cheesecake Factory with Dad and Jasmina, rude tile men at Mom’s, leaving a club because drinks weren’t free, singing “you’re so vain”… Yes, Monkey Jungle was more fun than expected, amie, send me the pics! My fave was the gorilla who used to work for the circus, the mean circus people took out his teeth, so that when he was fired(?) and went to monkey jungle, they couldn’t find him a girlfriend because he wasn’t handsome anymore. But he still is. Really!
Went to Rochester (took us long enough to get there!) and watched Jazzybelle graduate – finally met her family too! Bursting with pride, Jeremy and I ran the Lilac Fest 10K in 1:04 – so fun! I would have quit halfway or sooner if not for him. And thanks to Amie for helping me train!!
After a couple of days in DC, Stace, Jazzy, and I flew to Chicago to meet up with some of Stace’s friends for a girls’ weekend. Oh yes, the night before we had a very exciting night with Matt Miller and his fruit juicer, edamame, Chinese noodles, martinis, and his adorable kitty. Chicago was COLD! Not freezing, but not spring weather. I had fun, but I was definitely a party pooper and skipped a couple nights at the club. Funniest memory – looking for a restaurant one night. Myesha: Why don’t we go to this nice food court. Nadia: We can’t go to the food court, I have a Louis Vuitton bag! *cracking up* okay, you had to be there. Jazzy stayed behind to join Lindsay on their cross-country adventure.

June - Back in DC, I had 2 days to clean up and move out of our beloved California St. apt. Of course, that turned into 2 weeks, but no one really noticed. I moved in with my Ferguson family, where I’m still getting the hang of babysitting once in a while.
Lately, I’ve been getting myself organized, spending some quality time with the family, wrapping up a few details at the good old school psychology department, and trying my best to prepare for the miss deaf florida pageant in what, 10 days? Eek. As Joanne tells me “try? don’t try, DO!” dang, that’s a kick in the ass. :)

Ooh, and I got TWO invitations to go to Southeast Asia! One from my Dad and Jasmina to Bali/Jakarta for a 2-day wedding… oh I’d love to go. I don’t dare ask for a week off from my internship! And the other invitation from someone I *sigh* over. But obviously the latter trip wouldn’t be free. ;)

Upcoming trips – Miami tomorrow, Colorado next month to visit my dear Amy, Wisconsin for KayLeigh and Matt’s wedding and visits to Emily and more trouble with Rachel, a stop in Indianapolis, then week-long family fun in the Hamptons in August. Kayla will be ONE! Gosh. (ooh, I finally saw napoleon dynamite!!) “maybe I will! Gosh!” rotflol.

Dinnertime! be back later.
