After a busy morning at work, I went to a "Healthy Eating" workshop hosted by the employee assistance program. It's a great resource and I hope to take advantage of more future workshops. This one was pretty basic, but it did remind me of some simple rules that I haven't been following- look for whole grains, pair fruits with proteins for balance, don't cut foods out of your diet (like dairy) that could interfere with proper nutrient absorption, etc etc.
Since doing P90X for the past couple of weeks, I've been concerned with not letting all that workout time go to waste. Without the proper diet, I know I won't see the results I want, so this workshop came at a perfect time.
Which explains my dinner tonight:
Roasted tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella mussels in pure butter, pommes frites with curry and mango mayonnaises for dipping, and fleur d'hibiscus beer. Delicious and not-so-nutritious! :)
