Sunday - time for weekend recap!
ooh, Friday nite's grad student party was fun! congrats to Carrie and Kathleen - the new GSA prez and vice prez. They totally deserve it and will do great. The lounge was gorgeous - www.lounge201.com - I definitely want to go back there sometime. Great drinks, I definitely had a few too many cuz I don't remember half the night. But! I do remember winning $50 cash as a door prize :) :) Vaguely remember being "affectionate" with Chris the bouncer and Ernesto the bartender... and get this! Tracy recognized Chris later as the roommate of her ex - what a small world! Ah good times. And I have amazing friends - made it home safely with all my possessions thanks to Amanda, Autumn, and Ed - even Smitha who tried in vain to get me to remember and tell them my address. Craziness...
Saturday was a rainy day... perfect for recovering from a night of drinking and for doing homework. Ooh and I brought my TV into the bathroom to watch a movie while bubble bathing. Ahh. After being paged 297 times, I gave in and went in the rain to a housewarming party in VA. Took the bus to the metro and it was the worst bus ride ever - the driver kept turning to look at me while driving to flirt in the middle of Dupont Circle! Fearing for my safety, I moved to the front so he could continue his attempts at fingerspelling while watching the DAMN ROAD PLEASE. He wrote his address on a bus schedule so I can write to him. Sure thing.
The housewarming party was nice - especially the food! Samosas, eggrolls, and Smitty's bean dip, and kiwi at its best. :) Rebecca taught me the difference between orange, red, and yellow peppers - who knew?
This morning Jeremy came home and recapped his weekend for me - always entertaining - then we got ready to meet friends for brunch in our neighborhood. Had a yummy Spanish omelet, then went our separate ways.. I had planned to stay home to work but got locked out while saying bye to everyone outside. Ran like the wind to catch Jeff and Smitty so they could bring me to Gally where Jeremy was doing a photo shoot with the famed photographer Tate Tullier. Who recently took awesome pics of Stace, Joe, and Kayla, by the way - beautiful.
Finally I am home in my brightly lit room thanks to our new lamps and am alert thanks to a stop at Starbucks for an Eggnog latte - I'm not a huge fan of eggnog but it's a sentimental thing cuz it brings memories of Christmastime with the family. Ooh, just noticed the poem on the Starbucks cup.....

It's time to join hands
Welcome your family and friends from distant lands
Get everyone together and raise a cup of cheer,
Because it's the holidays - that special time of year.

Um, lame.
