Where does the time go, I do not understand it. :-o
Jazzy has requested an update - and as always, her wish is my command!
What's happened since last Sunday... went to school/work Mon and Tues, gave presentations both days - Mom said I should go on the lecture circuit and make some cash. Yeah, there's big money in making speeches about neuropsychological assessment - ooh, maybe there is? Wed afternoon, I did laundry and went over to the hair salon in Silver Spring where my sister lives - but it was packed (black ppl like to look good for the holidays) so I rescheduled and called my sis to pick me up and she did so with Mommy, woo hoo, and once I arrived to the house, played with Kayla who was wide awake cuz she knew Auntie Lisa was coming! Mom, Stace, and I channel-flipped between our favorite Wed shows - mine was the Bachelor, Stace's was America's Next Top Model, and Mom's was West Wing. Poor Mom, she was trying to keep up with all three shows but how stressed could she get with Kayla on her lap. :) Went to sleep at 11:30, and woke up at 11:30 the next day! Slept gooood. So did Joe, he slept from 9:30 to 9:30, so I didn't feel too bad. As is our Thanksgiving tradition, I was the kitchen assistant... but this year it meant I got to play with Kayla all day! We even went for a walk to look at the leaves, but all she did was stare at me, so calm and giggly - precious!
Dinner was fabulous - very simple since there was only 4 of us this year - Kayla slept through dinner! Stace made maple roasted turkey, garlic mashed potatoes, and sweet potato pie, Mom made cornbread stuffing and cheesy broccoli and cauliflower, I made apple pie, and Joe made "sure everything was going smoothly." haha. Will post a few pictures.
Mom left this morning... we had fun last night, watching the 3rd "Matrix" movie, eating apple pie and soft candy apples, watching the baby in her ExerSaucer. :) I think this is one of the best Thanksgivings we've had - spending real, quality "deblissta" time together, and my bro-in-law always feels more like family every time I see him. Christmas will be a different story - seems like everyone will be going to Miami and there'll be 297 ppl at my Mom's and Dad's. Anyone wants to come down for New Year's, send me a holler!
I'm unsatisfied with this post - I didn't mean to just write about my day-to-day activities... I'm working on a research paper due Monday and it's pretty much occupying my brain space. I want to say, for now, how much I love my family and friends, how grateful I am that you are so loving and accepting, and if it wasn't for you guys, I'd sink into a deep, depressing, black hole and never come out.
